I'm a DevOps and cloud engineer: AWS at work, a Proxmox cluster at home, and a habit of automating whatever I have to do twice. Right now that also means AI-assisted engineering: building with Claude Code, and working out where an agent helps and where it needs a human.

I write about it on the blog: the fixes that took too long to find, the setups that turned out well, and the reasoning behind both.

    My homelab used to be one box of containers I managed by hand. Now it's a Proxmox cluster run from a Git repository called senate, which I built assisted by Claude Code. The ideas behind it, how I work in it, and what I learned.

    How Chrome's font cache semi-bricked my KDE desktop

    Chrome 154 replaced the system's fontconfig cache files with symlinks to its own, and every new Qt app started segfaulting. How I found it, proved it in a sandbox, and keep it away with a systemd path unit until Chrome ships a fix.
